The central government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of central government employees by three per cent to 34 per cent and give them a gift before the fall. The state has given the news.
The dearness allowance on the basic pay of the employees was increased by three per cent. It has been reduced from 28 per cent to 31 per cent. The decision to increase the inflation allowance was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday.
There are 47.68 lakh central employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners across the country who will benefit from this decision.
The central government will spend Rs 95,44.50 crore on inflation allowance.
